The warehouse is responsible to ensure the management of the stocks at base level. 


Key activities in your role will include

Ensure management of the base’s stocks:

  • Guarantee that the procedures and instructions of stock management are followed
  • Ensure follow-up of stocks and pay particular attention to use-by dates of food and medicine
  • Draw up a monthly inventory
  • Keep all documents related to stock management up to date
  • Produce the monthly stock follow up for all stocks of the base
  • Check minimum stocks balances when updating stock cards and report anticipated shortages to the Supply officer
  • Make sure the physical check matches with the Bin Cards, Stock Cards and Stock follow up
  • Identify the most used items and prevent shortage
  • Update the stock follow-up tool on daily basis. Make sure that project codes, dates, unit price and all other information are accurate.
  • Keep the stock organized with identified area for each department, transit and preparation area.
  • Keep track of the location of items in the stock follow-up

Ensure the quality of the storage condition:

  • Check daily that the store is clean and is regularly disinfected and ventilated
  • Check the temperature and humidity of the store
  • Check the sanitary conditions of new products (absence of parasites)
  • Remove infected products and inform the Supply officer
  • Report any problem with the quality
  • Follow up of temperature and humidity of the Warehouse
  • Make sure repellent items are available in the stock
  • Produce lost report for all broken or damage items
  • Close control of the quality of the items must be done and validated for each delivery

Manage cargos and shipments:

  • Examine the deliveries: quantity, quality, documentation
  • Complete the various dispatch documents
  • Ensure safe preparation and loading of cargo into transportation vehicle
  • Tasks
  • Anticipate the shipment means and availability to send items to the base
  • Make sure all documents are dully filled and signed when transmitted to the carrier
  • Check if all parcels are well made to protect the items during transportation
  • Inform consignee in advance of the shipment and the size of it.

Other support:

  • Support on any task assigned in the log department when needed
  • Archiving the Hard copies in an organized way and electronical copy in the proper files
  • Tasks
  • Make sure the archiving system for stock management document is clear and easy to find documents

Security:

  • Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
  • Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan.

Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger:

  • Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.
  • Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.
  • Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work



Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Professional experience in logistic/clerical work.
  • University degree preferred on Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or related 
  • Technical knowledge in Supply Chain management, warehouse keeping, basic IT knowledge.
  • Driving certificate for the use of a forklift / stacker an asset.
  • 2 years minimum previous experience working on projects related to Logistics at humanitarian aid organizations and/or international donors or private sector.
  • Humanitarian sector knowledge is an asset
  • Action Against Hunger knowledge is an asset
  • English & Arabic compulsory (written and verbal)
  • Required knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment (excel, word, PowerPoint, email…)
  • Knowledge on specific warehouse/stock management software desirable.
  • Mobility between bases is required. No international travels required.
  • Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.
  • Candidates from middle area preferred.

  • Contract Length: 8 months with possibility of extension based on fund.
  • Based: in Gaza strip – middle area.
  • Salary: According to Action Against Hunger salary scale.
