Objective 1: Driving and Logistics Support (70%)
- Follow the weekly movement plan according to project requests and instructions from the Base Logistics Manager.
- Safely transport Action Against Hunger staff, visitors, goods and equipment between offices, warehouses and project/activity locations.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, including checks of tires, fuel, oil, brakes, lights, battery, and other critical components, and complete the required checklists.
- Ensure the vehicle is properly fueled, clean, secure and equipped with the required emergency and safety equipment.
- Support warehouse and logistics activities when driving duties are not required, including loading, unloading, handling, and securing goods and equipment.
- Immediately report any mechanical problem, accident, damage or other vehicle-related issue to the Base Logistics Manager.
- Ensure that the vehicle is used only for authorized Action Against Hunger activities and in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Comply with Lebanese traffic regulations, road safety standards, and organizational procedures at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and, on an exceptional basis, be available to work outside normal working hours, including weekends or public holidays, when required by operational needs.
Objective 2: Reporting and Documentation (30%) - Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logbooks, recording mileage, movements, fuel consumption, and other required information.
- Complete and submit vehicle, movement, fuel, and maintenance records in a timely manner.
- Report any delay, incident, accident, loss, damage, or operational issue that may affect transportation activities.
- Ensure all required vehicle documentation is available, valid, and carried in the vehicle during movements.
- Report vehicle movements through established Action Against Hunger communication and tracking mechanisms.
Objective 3: Security
- Comply with all security policies, procedures, and instructions outlined in the Mission and Base Security Plans.
- Obtain the required movement authorizations and security clearances prior to travel, where applicable.
- Immediately report any security incident, concern, or breach of security procedures to the designated supervisor.
- Ensure that Action Against Hunger identification and visibility materials are available and used in accordance with security procedures.
- Never operate a vehicle that is considered unsafe or that does not meet minimum safety requirements without prior authorization.
- Ensure emergency equipment, including the first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, spare tire, jack, and tools, is present, functional, and readily accessible.
- Adhere to approved routes, movement procedures, curfews, speed limits, and other security-related instructions.
- verify that all passengers wear seatbelts and comply with vehicle safety requirements before and during movements.
- Consult the Logistics and Security Manager, as required, regarding security clearances, movement restrictions, or specific instructions before travelling to areas requiring additional authorization.
Objective 4: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger
- Support emergency interventions and humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger according to operational needs and the employee's abilities.
- Support activities that contribute to achieving Action Against Hunger's humanitarian objectives.
- Promote a safe, respectful and equitable environment through knowledge and application of Action Against Hunger's gender, anti-harassment and safeguarding policies.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries when interacting with beneficiaries, children, staff and community members.
Objective 5: Gender & Safeguarding - Promote safe and equitable environments, through knowledge and application of the protocol against harassment and gender policy.
- Report any safeguarding, harassment, exploitation, abuse or other serious concern through the established reporting mechanisms.
- Knowledge and compliance with safeguarding policy.
