 The Nutrition Community Mobilizer will support community-based nutrition activities and contribute to outreach, raising awareness, beneficiary engagement, screening, referrals, distributions, and reporting under the guidance of the Nutrition team.


Key activities in your role will include

The Community Mobilizer will support the Nutrition team in the following activities:

Community Outreach and Screening

  • Support community-based nutrition screening activities targeting children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding women.
  • Assist in identifying individuals requiring nutrition support and facilitate their referral to appropriate services and health facilities.
  • Support the collection of information related to nutrition vulnerabilities and community needs.
  • Assist in rapid assessments, surveys, and other data collection exercises when required.

Nutrition Awareness and Community Engagement

  • Conduct awareness sessions on: 
    • Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)
    • Maternal nutrition
    • Child nutrition
    • Healthy feeding practices
    • Prevention of malnutrition
  • Mobilize community members for awareness sessions and project activities.
  • Promote positive nutrition and health-seeking practices within targeted communities.
  • Collect community feedback and share concerns and observations with the Nutrition team.

Distribution Support

  • Support the organization and implementation of nutrition-related distributions.
  • Assist beneficiaries during distribution activities.
  • Maintain appropriate distribution records and documentation.

Coordination and Reporting

  • Support coordination with Community Health Outreach Workers (CHOWs), health facilities, local authorities, and community representatives when requested.
  • Submit activity reports and data collection forms to the designated Nutrition focal point.
  • Support data entry, filing, documentation and archiving activities as required.


Emergency Support

  • Contribute to emergency nutrition activities and rapid response actions when required and within the scope of the assignment.

Do you meet the profile required criteria?

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

•Ability to engage with vulnerable communities in a respectful manner.

•Basic understanding of nutrition and health concepts is desirable.

•Ability to collect and accurately record information.

•Good organizational skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
