The overall responsibility of this position is to support the implementation of MEAL and related support in Data Management activities in Gaza. Ensuring quality data collection, reporting, and monitoring processes. This role contributes to evidence-based programming by assisting in data collection, supporting routine analysis, and facilitating learning and accountability practices. 


Key activities in your role will include

Objective 1:  Support/Lead implementation of MEAL activities (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning)
Tasks:

  •  Support in day-to-day MEAL activities according to agreed work plans.
  •  Support project teams in using MEAL tools, procedures, and tracking systems.
  • Assist in routine monitoring, data collection, and documentation.
  • Contribute to implementing accountability activities, including community feedback and complaints mechanisms.
  • Support the promotion of MEAL practices and learning within project teams.
  •  Assist in documentation of MEAL tools, field practices, and lessons learned.

Objective 2: Support/Lead in data management and data processes related tasks for Gaza Base

Tasks:

  • Support in designing and deploying digital data collection tools (e.g., Kobo).
  •  Support downloading, cleaning, and organizing datasets for analysis and reporting.
  •  Contribute to data analysis and visualization using Excel, Power BI, and other trackers.
  • Help maintain databases and simple data management tools for program follow-up.
  •  Support application of IM procedures, data protection, and confidentiality protocols in daily work.
  • Assist in ensuring timely sharing information with relevant teams.

Objective 3: Support and / or lead field monitoring and data Analysis

Tasks:
• Participate in and lead field visits for monitoring, assessments, and surveys.
• Support planning and preparation of field visits with the MEAL team and project staff.
• Assist with logistical and technical arrangements for field visits.
• Coordinate with project teams to align field monitoring with MEAL plans and project needs.
 • Share monitoring findings and collected data with the MEAL supervisor and relevant teams.

Objective 4: Support and / or Lead monitoring, reporting, and learning

Tasks:

  • Support preparation of baseline and endline reports.
  • Support preparation of routine monitoring reports.
    • Contribute to regular monitoring updates and progress tracking.
    • Support preparation of qualitative reports (FGDs, KIIs, Most Significant Change, etc.).
    • Assist in indicator tracking, beneficiary data reporting, and monthly progress reports.
     • Participate in project review meetings to share MEAL data when requested.

 


Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Academic Background University degree preferred in social sciences, information technology, economics, statistics, international relations, software engineering with professional experience in Monitoring and Evaluation within the humanitarian sector.
  • Monitoring and evaluation, IT knowledge.
  • 3 years minimum experience working in MEAL department in humanitarian aid organizations and/or international donors or private sector.
  • Demonstratable experience in conducting field level data collection (FGDs, KIIs, KAP surveys, etc.)

Our remuneration package:
  • Contract Length: Until 30th November 2026 - extendable pending funding and performance
  • Based in: Gaza Strip - Dier Al Balah
  • Salary: Based on Action Against Hunger salary scale.
  • Action Against Hunger provides food and transportation allowances for a fully worked month.
