The Project Senior Finance Officer in Damascus will Ensure that ACF Admin and Financial Procedures are properly implemented and followed and will Provide BFU for SHF Grant to relevant staff under this grant immediately after closing of accountancy. Follow up on the BFUs and reallocate the costs according to the feedback from the other departments. Check monthly reports and supporting documentation, making sure that reports coincide with accountancy records and are in line with signed contracts


Key activities in your role will include

Objective 1: Financial Management

  • Prepare Budget Follow up for the dedicated Project after the accountancy closure on monthly basis and share it with the designated staff members.
  • Review the support expenses allocated under this dedicated project on monthly basis to ensure correctness and accuracy.
  • Ensure that forecast of activities & support cost are up to date with coordination with related Program Manager.
  • Analyses possible under and over expenditures, suggesting possible solutions to the team and implementing them together with the Log and Program teams.
  • Ensures proper application and adherence to donor rules and regulations and serves as a focal point for all budget-related queries.
  • Maintains a contract tracker for the payments, obligations, due dates and be on top of the contract management.
  • Ensures compliance with the laws and government requirements.

 

Objective 2: Accountancy & Banks

  • Prepare the Accountancy Bank Books for the dedicated project with coordination with base Administrators and share it with Accounting Manager for review and posting to Agresso
  • Validate all payments and supporting document of the Dedicated project and match it with the forecasted expenses.
  • Prepare Bank Letters for payments related to the dedicated project from the dedicated bank account using AAH templates.

 

Objective 3: General Responsibilities

  • Any other work duties assigned by the Admin./Finance Coordinator related to general administration, finance and budget.
  • Partcipates at internal and external coordination meetings (if required)
  • Ensures regular communication and reporting with the Admin./Finance Coordinator.
  • Ensures smooth, clear and efficient communication with other departments at the coordination and base levels         
  • Support in the preparation of audits.
  • Respects applicable security rules specified in the mission and base security plan.
  • Communicates to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan.
  • Keeps the confidentiality and security of all AAH records and information gathered in the course of employment with ACF
  • Respects of AAH Charter and internal rule.

Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • University degree in Accounting/financial management, Bachelor level degree in management, finance, or related field
  • 4 years minimum experience in finance related positions.
  • NGO experience is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of accounting tools (Agresso or similar)
  • Good Knowledge of windows office package, Advanced user of excel

Our remuneration package:
  • Contract period: 6 months
  • Salary/benefits: According to Action Against Hunger's salary scale and terms and conditions.
  • Duty station: Damascus.
