In the context of AAH emergency response in the Gaza Strip, the main focus of this position will be the the execution of nutrition programs. She/He will ensure the timely implementation, monitoring and closing of Action Against Hunger’s component of the project. The Head of Project (HoP) will manage a field team to achieve the agreed upon objectives and activities in a qualitative and accountable manner. They will ensure that all the necessary project documentation are in place and accessible for effective and efficient planning as well as for compliance purposes. As a member of the Nut Department, the Head of Project will support the Nutrition Program Manager and Nutrition Coordinator in identifying new opportunities and build relations with peer agencies/partners in the Gaza Strip.
The primary role of the Head of Project (Nutrition) is the timely implementation, monitoring and closing of all nutrition activities, mainly focused on IYCF, TSFP and MBSF. He/she will manage a field team to achieve the agreed upon objectives and activities in a qualitative and accountable manner. He/she will be required to plan resources required for implementation effectively, He/she will ensure that all the necessary project documentation are in place and accessible for effective and efficient planning as well as for compliance purposes.
This role will require close collaboration with other nutrition teams focused on the implementation of CMAM, and BSFP activities, to ensure an integrated approach. Moreover, the role will involve close collaboration with the support departments such as Logistics and HR as well as MEAL and ACFs other departments such as FSL, WASH. As a member of the Nutrition Department, the Head of Project will support the PM/Coordinator in identifying new opportunities and build relations with peer agencies/partners in the Gaza Strip.

Objective 1: Project Management |
Tasks: | |
| - Responsible for the timely implementation of the planned activities as identified in the proposal and the project work plan.

| - Prepare all the project documentation (workplan, budget forecasting and participate to the preparation of the MEAL plan).

| - Responsible to propose solutions and anticipate risks to ensure timely implementation while adapting to the changing context and possible obstacles in the implementation.
|
| - Responsible to ensure adequate data management in his/her team and in collaboration with the MEAL department mainly for beneficiary data
|
| - Ensure adequate monitoring and evaluation process is put in place for project’s activities in collaboration with the MEAL department according to objectives and indicators.
|
| - Ensure and follow up project archiving and documentation in coordination with the related technical staff according to AAH archiving process and the donor requirements.
|
| - Participate to external meetings and coordinate with external actors (e.g. to cross check beneficiary lists) as necessary for the project and in collaboration when necessary, with other departments (FSL, WASH).

| - Ensure integration of gender and protection dimensions within daily work and project implementation
|
| - Contribute to communication and advocacy materials as required by the advocacy & communication department.

- Identify training needs of team staff and coordinate with HR department to undertake the relevant training and monitor progress.

| - Evaluate project’s team members twice a year, and upon completion of a staff members probation period and ensure sufficient induction and integration into the team.

| - Validate each Project team members’ leave plan request, considering the project time plan and Action Against Hunger internal regulations

| - Conduct a project orientation for new staff to understand the nature of the projects.

| Objective 3: Reporting |

We are looking for candidates who have/are
Technical knowledge in Project Cycle Management and proven relevant field experience in nutrition program implementation in the context of the Gaza Strip. |
At least five years’ experience in humanitarian or development programming with a strong preference Nutrition with previous experience in designing and implementing activities related to IYCF, CMAM and BSFP. |
Result and solution oriented |

Required experience/skills
- Medical background including but not limited to midwife/labor and delivery nurse or general nurse. Other backgrounds to be considered: nutritionist, pharmacists, public health.
- At least 5 years’ experience in humanitarian or development programming previous experience in designing and implementing activities related to health or general health promotion.
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking Arabic and English
